Music and Family

Hi, so for my family member, I decided to interview my mom. Just to give you a quick idea about my mom, she is very soft-spoken, but when she speaks, you need to listen up. I always refer to her as a quiet church mouse. When she agreed to do the interview, I was extremely thankful because I felt like it was a bit out of her comfort zone. My mom listens to so much music, like the radio when driving or on her phone while getting ready or while cooking dinner. I feel like some of the music I like is thanks to her.

Below is the video of the interview

The first song she really speaks about is Brandy's "Have You Ever." I hadn't heard of this song until after the interview, and I looked it up.

The next song is from the movie Dreamgirls. She didn't specify any song, so I just put one of my favorites. (If you haven't watched the movie and you like musicals with amazing singing and jaw-dropping drama, you should definitely go watch it.)

The last song is our go-to road trip song. It's such a fun song to sing, and I like to try to sound like Tamar when I sing it. (My throat hurts at the end of this song every time.)

  1. Nirro, your mom has absolutely amazing music taste. Brandy and Tamar Braxton are like two of the best artists of the 90s-2000s. And "Dreamgirls"??? SUCH a good show, I love the music with all my heart. Your mom seems super sweet and fun to talk to!

  3. Nirro! Your mom seems so sweet! Her memories of you were so cute, and I love her tastes in music. I really should listen to these genres more. Also, she absolutely clocked current pop music being trash!
